Job Description

About Role:

Acts under continuous guidance and support to develop test and document applications

Outcomes:

1.      Interpret the application features and component design developing the same under user stories/ specifications per the directions provided
2.      Code debug test. document and communicate product/component/feature development stages.
3.      Identify and report opportunities to improve efficiency and quality (e.g. repeatable processes that can be automated)
4.      Adhere to project timelines and communicate effectively over e-mails and conversations
5.      Conduct unit testing to validate unit-level functionalities
6.      Practice FAST goals; seek and accept feedback
7. Learn technology business domain system domain individually and as recommended by the project/account

Measures of Outcomes:

1.      Adherence to engineering processes and standards (coding standards)
2.      Adherence to schedule / timelines
3.      Adherence to SLAs where applicable
4.      Number of defects post-delivery
5.      Number of non-compliance issues
6.      Reduction of reoccurrence of known defects
7.      Quickly turn around production bugs
8.      Meet the Defined productivity standards for the project
9. Completion of all mandatory training requirements

Outputs Expected:

Code:

1. Learn coding standards and practice them in development. Develop code with guidance for the above

Configure:

1. Follow configuration process

Test:

1. Create and conduct unit testing
2. Document test results

Domain relevance:

1. Develop features and components with a good understanding of the business problem being addressed for the client

Manage Defects:

1. Raise
   fix
   retest defects

Document:

1. Create documentation for one’s own work

Status Reporting:

1. Report the status of tasks assigned
2. Comply with project-related reporting standards/process

Manage knowledge:

1. Consume project-related documents
   share point
   libraries and client universities

Release:

1. Adhere to the release management process

Requirement:

1. Understand the requirements/user stories

Design:

1. Understand the design/LLD and link it to requirements/user stories

Skill Examples:

1.      Explain and communicate the design / development to the mentors/leads
2.      Perform and evaluate test results against product specifications
3.      Develop user interfaces business software components and embedded software components
4.      Manage and guarantee high levels of cohesion and quality
5.      Use data models
6.      Perform and evaluate tests in the customer or target environment
7.      Team player
8.      Good written and verbal communication abilities
9. Proactively ask for and offer help

Knowledge Examples:

• Appropriate software programs/modules
  1.      Programming languages
  2.      DBMS
  3.      Operating Systems and software platforms
  4.      Integrated development environment (IDE)
  5.      Agile methodology
  6. Knowledge of customer domain and also subdomain where the problem is solved
